Neither venue wins the college football board outright. Across the twelve national title contracts the model tracks, Kalshi posts the best available price on eight of them and Polymarket on four, so the right venue is a function of which team the trade targets, not a single verdict.
The split is not random. Kalshi holds the chalk and the longshots: Miami at 15c, Ohio State at 13c, Notre Dame at 13c, Indiana at 8c, Ole Miss at 3c and Utah at 2c. Polymarket concentrates its edge in one band, the SEC mid-tier, where Georgia at 15c, LSU at 7c, Texas at 6c and Alabama at 5c all price below their Kalshi quotes.
Which venue has the best college football prices right now?
Counting best prices contract by contract, Kalshi is cheapest on two thirds of the board and Polymarket on the remaining third. That is close to an even match on raw count, but the venues do not overlap where it matters; each owns a distinct slice of the market.
The chart below reads as two groups. Georgia and Miami sit level at 15c but on opposite venues (Polymarket and Kalshi). Ohio State and Notre Dame match at 13c on Kalshi. From LSU down, Polymarket carries the SEC names while Kalshi takes the shorter-priced favorites.
Why Polymarket owns the SEC mid-tier
Polymarket's four best prices cluster in a single range: Georgia at 15c, LSU at 7c, Texas at 6c and Alabama at 5c. Three of those (LSU, Texas, Alabama) are mid-board SEC contracts priced between 4.5% and 6.5% fair value, where a single cent is a meaningful fraction of the probability.
Against the model, these prices are tight rather than generous. LSU's 7c sits above a 6.5% fair value, Texas' 6c matches a 6% read, and Alabama's 5c lands just over 4.5%. The takeaway is relative: Polymarket is the cheaper venue for these names, not a source of standalone value. Georgia is the exception at the top, where 15c trades a hair under its 15.4% fair value.
Why Kalshi holds the chalk and the longshots
Kalshi's advantage runs down the extremes of the board. At the top it has Miami at 15c, Ohio State at 13c and Notre Dame at 13c; in the longshot tier it has Ole Miss at 3c and Utah at 2c. That is the chalk and the tail, with Polymarket winning the middle.
On fair value, Miami's 15c clears a 14.1% consensus, while Ohio State and Notre Dame both price at 13c against identical 12.5% reads. None of these undercut the model, so Kalshi's role here is to be the low-cost entry point on the favorites rather than a value flag. Indiana at 8c against 8.6% fair value is the closest the venue comes to a priced-under contract among its best quotes.
How to choose a venue by the team you want
The decision rule follows the split. For the favorites (Miami, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Indiana) and the longshots (Ole Miss, Utah), the best price is on Kalshi. For the SEC mid-tier (LSU, Texas, Alabama) plus Georgia at the top, Polymarket holds the cheaper contract. Checking both venues before entering is the whole point of a consensus board; the gap is usually a cent, and a cent compounds at low prices.
Access-wise, Polymarket runs code TGSWC (deposit $20, get a $50 trading bonus) and Kalshi runs code FADE (trade $25, get up to $500). Prices move with liquidity and news, and the model can be wrong; these are the venue reads as of the latest snapshot, not forecasts or advice.
